With xenophobic ideas and anti-science paradigms dominating public discourse, we need to make being stupid shameful. Things these people said on a regular basis in such a public space were worth being stoned by villagers back when they had a village idiot. Learning is difficult, cognitive dissonance will make you defensive of your values at first, but these dumb motherfuckers chose not to go through the pain of learning and the inconvenience of confronting their own prejudice, just so they can say such hateful shit under the ‘freedom-of-speech’ flag!

Hence, with all kinds of voices being amplified in this age of (flooding) information, the stupids won the round due to their sheer numbers. We were not ready, infrastructurally and suprastructurally. The bozos are deprived of learning but provided with a vast volume of information. This is why we have these idiots running things.

AND BECAUSE YOU ARE DELIBERATELY BEING DEPRIVED OF ORGANIZING. FUCK. Because, no matter how tired you are of educating your surroundings by yourself, capitalism rewards the organized bumbling idiot. You and your full-time jobs and your longing for community due to diminishing third place and bad public transport policy, and your abundant love and empathy won’t win over the systemic isolation and nurtured hatred of many ignorant and tired pieces of shits.

Hence, I found some grace within me in this age for people doing the bare minimum to better themselves. People are rediscovering books and communities, which is great. But by God, they are loud and obnoxious. They read some, and, incapable of experiencing the inconvenience of learning, they throw ‘bookshaming’ around. They engage in unnecessary culture wars, are incapable of media literacy, and label everything as fucking problematic because they lack critical thinking. Instead of learning, they bash intellectuals by crying out ‘elitism’. Real issues are being confused with the performance and the surface-level reading; nuance is nonexistent for these dumbasses.

JUST FUCKING READ AND LISTEN. You will have the opportunity to talk when you have one, and be sure that you know your stuff. Engage with the fucking community and don’t get yourself all high and mighty just because you just started reading.

Another thing: the other day, there was this asshole who harassed a girl on the internet just for speaking out against the regime. When being called out, he cried, “I am a piss-poor citizen and know nothing.” This is why I do not consider despising ignorant people as classism. Sure, their shit-for-brains are manufactured by the system, unwillingly, but they have agency and choice to not be an asshole and dumbass. It’s not like the other half of the internet is not trying to educate these piss-poor human beings.
